Manipur University of Culture (MUC)

The Manipur University of Culture (MUC) is a new, unique and first of its kind in the entire North-Eastern part of India. The university started to function on December 4, 2015 when the first Vice Chancellor and the first Registrar of the University, appointed by the Governor of the state in his capacity as the Chancellor of the University under the Transitional Provision of the Manipur University of Culture Act, provision No. 43, joined for duty in the forenoon of the same day.

The main objective of the Manipur University of Culture is to advance and disseminate knowledge by training, teaching and research in various aspects of culture, particularly the culture of the state. The office of the University is presently located at the premises of the building complex of the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur, Palace Compound, Imphal. Initially the teaching programmes will be conducted in the buildings of Imphal Art College, Government Dance College and Government Music College.

Manipur University of Culture Courses

Manipur University of Culture Admission Process

Candidates can get the prospectus along with application forms from the office of the Registrar on payment of Rs. 400/- for general and for SC/ST/OBC Rs. 200. The duly filled in application forms (in duplicate) will have to be submitted to the office of the Registrar.

Manipur University of Culture Selection Process

Selection of the Candidates for the Admission is made through as follows:
(a) a written Test for 50 marks
(b) a Practical/Demonstration Test for 35 marks and
(c) a Viva-Voce Test of 15 marks.

NOTE: The Written Test will be for 60 minutes and the Practical/Demonstration and Viva-Voce tests will be for 30 and 10 minutes respectively.

A Candidate seeking Admission must secure a minimum of 40% of the aggregate of the total marks of the three types of test.
